Thomas Burberry founded his brand in 1856 when he was 21 years old. A former apprentice to a draper, Burberry chose to open his own shop in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England. The brand grew at a respectable pace, and in 1891 Burberry was able to open a shop in Haymarket, London.

The logo, that Burberry is now known for, was developed in 1901. The logo features an Equestrian Knight and the word “Prorsum,” which is Latin for “forwards.” The brand currently designs such accessories as trench coats (for which it has acquired the most fame), footwear, eyewear, leather goods, fragrances and cosmetics.

It starts very bright, with tart fruit and juicy citrus. There is lots of pink pepper and a teensy little pinch of cardamom.
