The History of Prada
Prada was founded in 1913 by Mario Prada and currently boasts 618 boutiques worldwide. The brand specializes in travel accessories, handbags, ready-to-wear, shoes, and perfumes.
Started in Milan, Italy, by Mario Prada and his brother Martino, Fratelli Prada was a leather goods shop. When first opened, the shop offered such items as animal goods and English steamer trunks and imported handbags.
Mario was a firm believer that women should not be allowed to have any sort of role in business, so as a result he didn’t let any female family members from joining his company. As fate would have it, Mario’s son had no interest in the family business, so the task of carrying it on fell to his daughter Luisa, who operated Prada for almost twenty years.
New Beginnings
Luisa then handed the business over to her own daughter, Miuccia, in 1978. At this time, Miuccia began designing and offering backpacks out of Pocone, a nylon fabric that was also waterproof. In 1977 Miuccia met Patrizio Bertelli, and he advised that she stop importing English items and to change the existing luggage.
Prada Of Today
In the years that followed, the company’s following grew. In the 1990s, the Prada brand earned the title of premium status symbol. When many hear the name Prada, for the most part, they are reminded of the line of perfumes the fashion house has to offer. With a definitive offering of fragrances for both women and men, there is sure to be one that will appeal to any individual. A few of the scents we offer from Prada include:

Prada Candy Florale is announced as an exciting floral fragrance full of life and sensuality, inspired by an imaginary flower that smells like candy or a bouquet of flowers standing on the counter of an ice cream shop in Italy. This romantic and powdery composition contains accords of limoncello sorbet the top, flower of peony in the heart, and the base composed of benzoin, musk, caramel, and honey. The bottle and box are of standard signature design, this time colored in soft shades of pink and decorated with flowers motifs. Actress Lea Seydoux is the face of the campaign again.
Prada Candy Kiss channels the addictive nature of the Candy composition and enhances its characteristic scent of musk. Inspired by obsession and repetition, Prada Candy Kiss is designed to re-activate emotions and impressions. It evolved from the idea of creating a loop of sensations out of a single signature note wrapped around the body. Musk, in its signature purity, is omnipresent in the composition, from the upper notes to the base. It evokes delicate white cotton in a sensual fragrant cloud, enriched with uplifting notes of vanilla and orange blossom.
Full of high-quality natural ingredients, Infusion D’Iris, is clean, fresh, and light, and at the same time sophisticated and elegant. It is an intimate and personal scent that envelops you. The name Infusion D’Iris is inspired by the ancient and revered six-month-long infusion process used to draw soft, fresh notes from the root of the iris plant.
Men’s Fragrances
The house of Prada launched La Femme Prada and L’Homme Prada in mid-2016. The new fragrant pair of equals represents man and woman that are reunited in an identical vision. She could be him; he could be her. She is an absolute woman; he is an absolute man. There is not an obvious definition of a relationship between them. They could be lovers, friends, or even strangers. Both have multiple identities. L’Homme Prada is a modern scent that combines the classic Prada ingredients amber and iris.
